Hi,
This thread is for those of us who drive late model (2004+) Mercedes and want to use access your phones contact info, place and receive calls from the steering wheel control buttons, etc
Both me and my Dad have Verizon's XV6800 phones. He drives a 2004 Mercedes Benz S430 while I drive a 2007 E350.
Yesterday I was able to get both of our cars setup to work with our xv6800 phones. The dvd navigation display screen (COMMAND screen) shows all of our contact info and it also shows recently dialed and received calls as well as caller id. You can control it, place and receive calls, etc all from the mercedes steering wheel buttons. The mic is built into the rearview mirror and you listen via the cars speaker system.
MY 2003/2004 E-Class and MY 2004 S/CL-Class cars, even if the vehicle was never equipped with a phone system, are equipped with the CP211 TeleAid module already featuring Hands-Free support from the factory. So all you need is a bluetooth adapter that plugs into the TeleAid system. linked below is that adapter and you can order from your mercedes part counter for about $400 or you can buy them off ebay for about $200.

You have to access an unused TeleAid 10 pin plugin that is found under the false floor of the center console. Plug in the "puck", pair up your phone, then stop by a Mercedes dealership so they can use their diagnostic software to "enable" your phone system in the car. Thats basically it.
MY 2005-2007 mercedes are not prewired unless you specifically order pkg # 01 or 02 when you purchased the car. My car had PKG # 2 so all I had to do was buy a bluetooth adapter. Similar to what I hooked up on my dad's 2004 s430 described above except even simpler. The plugin is visable from the center console so no digging around under the the false floor etc. Linked below is the adapter that I purchased from the parts counter...

Later model 2008 and 2009 mercedes of course have bluetooth integrated from the factory so no adapters are necessary.
2005-2007 mercedes that did not come with option PKG #01 or 02 would require the entire wiring in addition to the bluetooth adapter. Mercedes really hits you good with about a $2200+ bill to install all that wiring. Ouch!
so $400-500 for just the bluetooth puck in my Dad and my cars was a "good deal".
*i can snap a few pictures tonight of the display screens from both our cars and where the "hidden" plugin is located on the 2004 models.
anyway, its really nice. Hope this helps someone.
THanks,
Ben
