Does anyone know how to completely turn off the XV6800 to conserve battery power?
I know WiFi is a big consumer of battery power, therefore, I always leave it off until I need to use it. I do camping a lot and there is no power outlet at camp site for recharging. In attempt to conserve battery, I switch the device to flight mode. That is supposed to turn off both the phone and the data. But my phone is still loosing battery power. I don't know what is causing it. So can anyone tell me how to completely turn the phone off and not to loose battery power?
Probably not good info for you, as it is a bit large.
But I carry a 12 volt battery, solar panel charger and 12 volt adapter with me when camping away from power. The battery is good for 2 or 3 charges/days, and a good day of sunshine can restore the 12 volt battery.
Remove the battery, smash it with a rock, immerse in water.
Any one of those, or a combination thereof should turn your phone completely off.

What good is a rock in water?

You have to go in the order that I listed. If you do it correctly, you have a smashed battery before the rock even touches the water.
But you're right; good catch. If the rock is wet, but the phone/battery are not, then you need to start over.
Let me know if you're still having problems. As a fix-all, we may need to immerse you too; perhaps in a lake. We'll go over that if we need to...

You need to hold power button down, as explained above, and to keep Homeland Security from being able to listen in even then, take the battery out, or even easier, do this hack:
