Streaming TV

Has anyone had success in getting live/streamed TV shows on their 6800s? SPB just came out with Online, which doesn't look bad, but I was wondering if there's a straight alternative that doesn't include all the extra stuff (I mean really, who needs ANOTHER weather program?!)

The best method I've ever seen is through Slingbox and Slingplayer mobile, but it connects to your normal signal from your residence (requires extra stuff). Slingbox can't be beat though.

Slingboxes rule, but I'm looking for another alternative to spending $150+ on hardware. SPB Online is only $20. Once.

Mobi costs $20/month on top of my already too high Comcast bill.

Any cheap ways to get some tubage?

if you have a TV Tuner in your home PC, And a good internet connection, orb works pretty well. That is what I use and love it. The best part is with orb, you can stream other things, like video, mp3, etc all from the same interface. Google orb if you are not familar. It is free by the way.

Get a SlingBox... trust me, now I can't live without it.

Just FYI the application for Windows Mobile cost $30...

Orb is the shiz. Just make sure you have TCPMP working with the whole streaming flash video thing. Basically, if youtube works Orb will. I LOVE my Orb and I use it on everything from PCs to WM to laptop.

-Does require tuner card in PC for live TV, but IMHO this one time expense kills the ongoing cost of other services and it is REAL cable just like home. I already use a media center PC at home, so I was set.

-The only thing I will say is the orb mobile interface leaves some to be desired - not at all sexy. But entirely functional - now I have my entire movie, music, picture and TV collection with me at all times - it's all about the cloud.
