Well I guess I am lucky... I was a 6700 user, bought a 6800 on ebay with 6.1 already installed and the dcd 2.3.1 rom installed and thus far, I am quite happy with the thing.

I thought the 6.1 upgrade was supposed to allow the start button to be on the bottom, but when I upgraded my XV6800 it is still on the top. Did I do something wrong? Is there a way to move it to the bottom?

That is a freeware program. I don't think that was something that was included in 6.1. Here is a link for that program though....I've never tried it but I have thought about it. Let us know how it worked for you and if it was what you wanted.
