[SPRINT ONLY] New ROM released: 3.35

As is the custom, now that the new Sprint ROM has been officially released, I thought it would be a good idea to start an official thread to replace the rumor threads.

The new ROM contains EV-DO and GPS. You can find it here.

Sprint: http://www4.sprint.com/pcsbusiness/d...CS_AM_Ship.exe

Mirrored at ppcgeeks: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/RUU/

Mirrored at rapidshare: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting

With previous official ROMs, it was necessary to relock your phone before installing the official ROM if you had unlocked your phone to use a custom ROM. With this ROM, this step is no longer necessary.

Installing now at work.

Edit 1*

Sprint customization running

EDIT 2*

Okay, in the top right corner there is a built in close button I guess, when u click it on the home screen a menu pops up with runing programs(activesync), percent free memory (48%/ 24mb), Short Cut to a task Manager!!!!! (with usage amounts),

EDIT 3*
Only installed one program. Live search. I did the IOTA also. Went into Live Search. Clicked Map, then center on gps location... not 10 seconds later it locked right on to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, testing D/L Speed now... same as usual (avg 400-550) I must not be in a rev a area (cleveland now, will be in flint/detroit next month, wonder if they got it?)

GPS seems much quicker - found my position in MS Live search in less than 30 seconds!

It's a newer version of 6.0. You can use a kitchen to install 6.1 and keep the radio. Some members of ppcgeeks have already done this and have reported it worked fine.

Basically, the only upgrade the "official" upgrade will get you over a "cooked" ROM is the new radio. This is rumored to find GPS sats much quicker. I assume that No2 or DCD will be able to cook up this new ROM rather quickly since there aren't a ton of changes. I haven't flashed to the ROM because I am at work, but I think by the time I am out there will be a ROM based of the two popular cooked ROMs available. No hurry here.

Actually that's not entirely true. A big part of the delay was a major bug in WMP that has since been corrected. I don't know if this bug is in the version of 6.1 that is in the custom ROMs or not.

No Chem has posted on another forum that he is already working his ROM. Said it should be out in a "few". I will ask about the WMP, not that I ever use it.

Can someone please upload the new ROM to a file hosting service? It's crawling from the HTC website at 8.4k/sec, and the PPCG FTP site is either down or not accepting connections.

Yes, it's Rev A with GPS. I'm getting 1.3 megs down and 300+ up consistently, tethered, testing at speedtest.net.

If you can't find it on the HTC site. Just click on either one of the link in the first post of this thread. The rapidshare link is functioning much faster than the HTC link that was originally posted.
