In my home area my mobile internet connections keep timing out and I am pretty sure it is due to Sprint's DNS servers. If I enter the IP address of google everything loads very quickly.
I would like to change the DNS servers from using Sprint's to OpenDNS. I followed these easy instructions but they don't seem to stick.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can change the DNS servers?

The program HTC_CM_Guardian, which is linked in \windows\startup, "corrects" changes to the default comm settings back to default. You can delete the link from \windows\startup, soft reset, and then make your changes and they should stick. Alternatively, you can create a new connection for your settings and leave the default settings alone.

Aha, I wondered what that was for. Does it do anything else?
Thank you for this info!

Check out post #12 in this thread. I was having the same problem as you (seems to be an east coast DNS server problem) and adding a new connection fixed it.

I tried both ways and each time I was asked for my user name and password. Is there a default password, when I was a Verizion customer the username was was your #@vzw.com and the password was vzw.

Thanks for the help.
Leave everything blank, check the "Save password" box, and click OK

As far as I know, all HTC_CM_Guardian does is force the data connection parameters back to default on the default connection.
