Looks like Microsoft / should be called microlate to every f-ing innovation for smart / pda phones.
I cant wait till the openmoko or linux phones or the google phones hit the market, sh!t on microsoft and sh!t on apple.
On another note, whos bright idea was it to have pdaphonehome's web pages ref-ulking refresh and click and reload ad's every 20 seconds. Its a joke, we have told you its a joke, and dont get me started on viewing this site on a "PHONE", umm lets see, its a web site devoted to PHONES, yet its soooo heavily bloated, and the ad refresh b/s makes my phone, weather its opera mini, opera mobile, ie, netfront, thunderhawk, it make me laugh cry and then laugh again.
Im thinking the refreshing web pages is a ploy to get more ad revenue, in a sneaky kind of way, to inflate the ad hits.

Just a thought.
dude tell me about it. on second thought, don't. I had to stop coming on to this site with TH. I was close to running outside and shoooting a random hawk in the face......that eye.......ahhh that eye!!!!!!
Opera mini is for regular cellphones. Opera Mobile is for WinMos and SmartPhones. Opera mini is free. Last time I checked, there was a charge for Opera Mobile.

This is an incorrect statement. Both are for PPC, though I beleive there is a smartphone edition of Opera. Opera Mini is a Java browser that works much like Pixcel browser, only a thousand times better (IMO).

No Problem. I think once Opera Mobile 9.5 comes out there will be little difference other than perhaps memory footprint of Mini being lower due to less features (no tab browsing/etc)
A major difference between the two, OMini and OMobile (sorry, too lazy to type out "opera" a hundred times) is that Mobile is a natively compiled windows mobile application, while Mini has to be run within a jvm "midlet" manager, which your Windows Mobile phone may, or may not have built-in... i know verizon's pda phones don't and that some of at&t's do. So although Mini's UI is a generation ahead of Mobile at the moment (slick operation, lightning quick response, iphone-esque zooming) it has some notable limitations due to its running in the virtual java environment setup by the midlet manager. For example, you cannot, without running a mortscript, click on links from elsewhere in windows (pocket outlook, for example) and have them open in Mini. You also cannot copy any text or URLs out of mini, for emailing to people, for example. And as was mentioned earlier, there are no tabs in mini (though this isn't a limitation of the jvm, just worth restating). That said, these are minor drawbacks which only get in the way occasionally, and for those occasions you can just use pocket IE (or opera Mobile if you are still within your trial period, or have plunked down $30 [if i remember correctly]). As for the current version of Opera Mobile, 8.65... I like to think of it as a slightly improved version of PIE. The look and feel is nearly identical, but it offers up tabbed browsing and is slightly more standards-compliant (no youtube or notable embedded flash support though).

Reason: i *heart* typos, or wait, no i don't
First I got an email saying to expect a text, then I got a text with a dl link. I now have it. I tried to post this from Skyfire, but it gives a message saying multi line text entry is coming soon. It's definitely beta.
browser works pretty nice, cannot tell if it is remote caching or not, but the VIEWS are awesome. UI is a bit clunky, coming from an Iphone, but it zooms and drags nicely.
AND, youtube videos work, haven't tried the other formats yet.
