Can receive email, but can't send

I'm still in the process of setting my 6800 up the way I like it, and I can't get my email set up right. I didn't have any trouble with WM5 on my PDA, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I have the incoming/outgoing mail server settings set exactly as they are on my computer. I don't have the authentication requirement button checked (it's not checked on my computer, either); I have tried checking it, though, and it still won't work.

The only thing I know that's different is that the outgoing server port number on my computer isn't the default number, and I don't know if I can change that on my phone. I didn't have to change it for my PDA, though, so I'm not sure why I'd have to change it for WM6.

If WM questions aren't appropriate for this forum, please disregard this message.

Thanks for any help y'all can give!

Since you say it worked fine on your WM5 device, it really should work just fine on your 6800. Generally, when someone says they are having issues sending email from their phone, 99/100 times, its because they are trying to use their ISP's SMTP server, almost all of which will not allow you to send email unless you are connected to their network (like you are from home). In that case, the work-around is to use your wireless carrier's SMTP server, which for Alltel, I'm not quite sure what that is (Sprint and Verizon have one available for their users so you may want to contact Alltel for that information or just simply google "Alltel SMTP server"). But again, if it worked under WM5, it should be just fine with WM6.
