Y'know that Windows based OS that you have to pay, or use a pirated version that M$ supplies? And all its' relevant applications that costs M$$$$$? It's going to be outdated in the near future, and soon you guys will be using Ubuntu. Why you ask? Well it's free for one thing, and so far - there's no catch. I love it and I'm windows free at home (except for my wife's and my PPC).
Soon you gang will catch on it. Two years at least...you'll see.

There are no published drivers that I know of you work with any flavor or Linux. I have worked with several versions of Linux so I am somewhat familiar with them. Your main paragraph doesn’t ever make sense. Did you proof read it before submitting it? Can you even count for us how many versions of Linux there are out there? What are you speaking of that is going to outdated soon? Why do you think we will be using Ubuntu? Why not Linspire to start out with?
Sure there are some apps out there for Linux based machines. But just like all those people who bought the iPhone found out, there are more 3rd party software apps for us Windows based user. Sure, eventually there will be more apps for the iPhone but even then there will never be as many as there are for Windows based machines.
You last sentence isn’t even correct either. What app are you typing in that isn’t catching all these grammar and spelling issues? Oh, never mind. I forgot you don’t use MS Office Word but rather something Linux based (which is likely why it is failing you, or either you haven’t mastered the Linux based apps yet)
Normally you've a level headed guy, but decided to pick a battle with me. Thanks for long winded epic - the answer is "no, I don't know how to sync the device to Ubuntu. Good luck."
Sorry my thread came across as a dimwitted twit, but I'm not sorry for typing it out. So up yours (no I ain't sorry for typing that one!)
However, throughout the negativity that transpired here so far, I did a quick wiki on Linspire, and I'm intriqued to try it out. In the end I'm grateful you brought it up. So I hope I managed to end this charade on a positive note.
I am truely sorry bro. I didnt mean it the way it came out. Last I chked though, Linspire wasnt the free type, not that it means much. As with most Linux based software, you have to know how to create most of you own things. I apologize again for everything. If you need anything feel free to let me know.
BTW, to answer you Q. Let me put it to you this way, Ill sell you my wife for half off and give you my ex for free.
Only if you take MINE!!! Wait a min...which one is getting the better end of the deal? Dear god...just take mine!!! Married life is more stressful than being a bachelor. As I recall, bachelorhood was oftentimes boring, and a great way to fill in the time geekin out, playin video games, but alas - we men had to grow up, and realize that the next time we can geek out, we'll be old farts trying to catch up with the younger generation.
Speaking of which, you do realize that we are ahead of the public mainstream when it comes to technology. Truly they are years behind, but the question remain - how much longer do we want to stay ahead?
I assume you're in the IT field, if not - surely you're somewhere close enough.
I did a dual major in Mathematics and Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. I started at DeVry in Decatur GA and last a year before I could no longer afford it. In case no one elses knows, that is a privately funded school and not government funded. I started back a year later at Albany State Univ where I did my Math and another year in Engineering. The calculator I used was a Voyage 200. While in school I did tech support for a global company who did contract work for BellSouth and was one of thier level 3 senior support reps before I moved in QA/trainer. I got a transfer up to Atlanta and worked for BS themselves in Telecommuncations in one for theri Central Offices and finished my engineering at Ga Tech. Then I moved back home (due to family issues) and now work for P&G as a Process Safety Engineer doing CAD work on P&IDs and Risk Management Assessment.
As for my wife, about 5-7, 150, DDs, veryprissy and exspensive, doesnt like to cook and has developed a distasteful attitude.
BTW, most decent or advanced Linux users do not care for Linspire because it so GUI based. They still feel to close to Windows and find themselves using a more command line based Linux.
