My problem

i got the xv6700 about 2 1/2 months ago (the end of august) and it has worked fine up until about a week ago when the touch screen part of it started to die out, I don't know the technical term for it or anything, just the part you use the stylus for. A few days later it died completely.

So i didn't do anything for a couple days, then i decided to do a hard reset, bad idea.
Now I'm stuck at the opening screen where it says "touch to begin" or something, and of course i can't touch it.

I'm thinking of bringing it into a verison store and seeing if they will take it in and fix it for me.
Note i did not buy it from a store, i bought it from ebay.

Am i totally screwed? Or do you think they will take it In? Any suggestions?

Thank you so much, ttake.

well if you dont have 3rd party insurance thru veriZon then you are in a bad position. veriZon will not attempt to fix it. if it was under 3rd party insurance they will simply tell you to call the insurance carrier and they will send you a replacement.

yup, screwed

Yup, screwed. The same thing happened to my original ppc6700 (which was a Sprint refurb) after about 6 months.

I had insurance so they replaced it for me on the spot.

The moral of the story is, if you can't easily replace it based on your next paycheck (and by easily I mean you won't miss a meal, date, game, gas, etc.) then DON'T buy it on eBay.
