I do realize it's personal choice, and I've been denying myself the ventage of saying...."good god almighty, the
iPhone interface is just an overglorifed eye-candy that almost any PPC and Smartphone can utilize, but what's the point???"
I mean - seriously, I've tried it out before, and it did work. I went "cool!" and then I went "neato!" and then later on, "wtf? taking too long to navigate here, bloody
iPhone interface!"
Bottom line? If you want your device to crap out, and test your patience, then by all means - go play with an
iPhone theme on your device. You're only doing yourself a disservice. Noticed how your desktop/laptop computer gets slower and wonkier with the more bells and whistles you put on it? It can only handle so much. Same goes for a lil PPC/smartphone device. It has to use up more memory on your device, and acts like a memory-suckin-vampire. To handle all that eyecandy stuff is silly and pointless when you start to lose perspective of having the device in the first place. If you really think the
iPhone is so cool, get the real thing, then a week later come back and say how much you hate it.
As for me, I want a phone, computer, email, camera, mp3 player, video player, games, calculator, gps (the Kaiser/Tilt/TytnII), and a powerful means to use it as a communicative tool with all the convergence technology embedded in one device. Not for some dumb Apple-ware application that's not really meant to tweak and customize - thanks Steve Jobs!
However the working
iPhone application I used and then discarded a day later was from PPCGeeks.com You may have to register if you'd like to download it.
iPhone - bleh!
