Phone Insurance Help!

Hi guys, I have a very specific question. Here goes the story along with it.

Ok, I just got a free upgrade for my verizon plan. The phone is an lg 9800. Now it will arrive here on 11-08-07, I already pre-sold it on ebay(I bought a used xv6700 with the profit) Now when that phone gets here, of course Verizon will ask me if I want insurance for the phone. Now here is my dilemma.

What I'm wondering is this: Can I purchase insurnace for the newly upgraded lg9800, then deactivate the phone and activate the Used xv6700 and still keep the insurance for it? Sorry if this doesn't make sense, please let me know.

Yes, when I came to VZW I started with a Chocolate (which I didnt like BTW) and had insurance on it. I bought 2 Chocolates actually as one was me myself and the other for my wife. I paid $100 for the both of them. I waited just before my 30 days and turned mine in saying I wanted a different color and then turned around and sold it on ebay for $218 BNIB.

Before I listed it on ebay I had been watching the selling market to see what colors were selling for the most and the pink actually was going the highest.

I knew I had wanted a 6700 but all the good ones were going well over $200 and I got outbid on many.

So I bought a 6700 with a bad keypad for $100 and when I got it I had it activated on my acct to replace my Chocolate and I KEPT the insurance. I then waited a week and called VZW to complain about the keyboard.

To them (because the acct was new) it looked as if the 6700 was new and one I traded the Chocolate for so they sent me a new (not refurned) 6700.

So thats my story on my aquisition of my 6700. But to answer your Q, yes you NEED to add or keep your insurance now and keep it when you change phones.
