Alltel PPC6700 MMS Finally!!! 100% Working!
I've been messing with this ever since I realized that the 6800 had MMS. I have finally got it to work for both the sending and receiving of picture messages. And the bad thing is I don't think it had anything to do with anything I got from the 6800...
The main thing that I did do is to get Alltel to add Picture Messaging to my smart choice plan. He tried to tell me my phone would not send picture messages, and I told him that I had somebody from Alltel put the software on my phone, and all I had left to do is to add this to my account, and I'd be able to send. So he fell for it, and added it to my account. It's the same feature that should only be available on the 6800... so you have to convince them to add it.
When you do this, then I'll send you the server settings. I have made some changes in my registry, but I don't know if any of those made a difference since it was mainly a server setting that did the trick. I'm looking for people with that feature installed on their account to test out different thing's until we get it to work on their phone.. Hopefully without doing any registry settings. I'm using the Verizon MMS Composer 3.0.6.24.

If you are able to receive a notification in your mms inbox when someone send's you a picture, then you are so close, you don't even know. My biggest problem was getting the message to goto my MMS inbox, and not just send me a text message telling me to go online and check it.
I think that when I added the picture messaging to my account, that is when they started to automatically go to my mms inbox and show who it was from and the size, but it just wouldn't never download a picture, or it would download that little b&w very small thumbnail. So if it is already going to your mms inbox, then it may only be a little server settings change, and you may be up and running.
The server setting's that I''m using have not been posted anywhere on the forums that I have seen. I totally stumbled across these on my phone in a log file....

1. Get Alltel to add Picture Messaging to your account if it's not already. I had to tell them that I had somebody from Alltel put the software on my phone to do MMS, and all I had left to do was to add the servive to my account. I have the smart choice plan, so it did not cost any extra a month, plus it's unlimited.
2. Install MMS Composer 3.0.6.24 to your device if it's not already on there. I flashed my device to WM6 using Helmi_C's ROM. He already had it on this ROM, but at the time I got this working I had already re-installed it like 3 times while trying to import the ArcSoft off of the 6800... I have the file, but it's easy to find. It's the Verizon version, but I don't know if that matters or not. If I get at least one person to get this working, I'll make a zip file with all of the stuff you need.
3. After you install that, get somebody to send you a picture message. It should now go into the MMS inbox instead of you getting that text message.
When you have done 1 - 3, post your results... I've made so many changes to my phone, it may take a couple of post's to see which change's I made actually made a difference or not. I know the server is a big part of it, but I had #3 happen using the verizon settings, so you should be able to get that far without making any server changes from the default.
Post your results...

Alltel 6700 MMS messaging.
I would be interested in getting it working on mine. Right now I get the message but it only tells me whom it is from and size etc. I don't get the actual message.

Alltel Smartphone Steps to MMS
Step's below...
1. Have Alltel add picture messaging to the line your 6700 is on.
2. Make sure you have MMS Composer 3.0.6.24 installed on your device. Click here if you need to download it.
3. Download the Alltel MMS cab here.
4. Install MMS Composer on your device if you haven't already.
5. Run my cab to fix all of the issue's related to why we have not been able to do this in the past.
6. Perform a soft reset to make sure all setting's take affect.
7. Send your first picture message, and request someone to send you a message in return.
Post your results!!
