I have an older Alltel UTStarcom 6700, with a ROM date of 9/12/05 and I am wondering if there's an update out there for the wireless manager that will allow the device to preform like the newer phones. Any help would be appreciated.

There are several custom ROMs that will do as you ask. You can read about many here. I use Kirvins C&S located here but also have used some of Pheonix's ROM and like them both. Read that thread in the link and it will tell you how to clear your phone, go into BootLoaded Mode and install the ROM. All ROM installs work the same no matter which one you go to.
