Keyboard Lag in text messages

My 6700 recently broke which caused me to have to take it to Verizon for a replacement. Upon getting the new phone, I immediately ran the WM6 update. I find that when I'm typing a text message, the keyboard response is horribly slow. I literally have to hit a key, wait for it to appear before it will register another key. In addation, it's not only when I first begin typing, it lasts the entire time I attempt to type a text. I tried typing a Note to see if it was the phone, and I found that the keyboard worked perfectly well. The problem only happens in text messages. Can someone help remove this thorn from my side?

have you made sure you have no un-needed apps running in the background? How much free memory to do have? Have you tried any of the reg edits to enable and add cache to help speed up certain areas of the 6700?

I have made sure that nothing else is running. The fact that it only lags in text messages makes me think it can't be a memory function. With that said, I have plenty of free memory as I haven't installed any other programs after I installed WM6. I have a 2 gig memory card as well.

I haven't tried any regedits or mods that may help since i don't know which one it could be. The fact that it only happens in text messages really throws me off because it performs regularly everywhere else.

I guess it could simply be a WM6 thing since it is still in testing phase and everyone is still reporting bugs. Maybe someone else can chime in and shed some light on posiible issues.

I was playing around with it trying to find a solution and I think I've got it. My phone was set to suggest words when I was typing in text messages. I simply went to the Input settings and turned that off and it's completely fixed.

if what waly said doesnt work for you, try pocketcm, PocketCM Contacts & Keyboard its an iPhone themed contact manager, with a built in sms threader, I personally like how it looks, and its alot more responsive than the stock sms program.
