I'm having trouble installing Microsoft Voice Command. I've read every thread I could find, but I can't find my situation.

I had V1.5 running on my PPC-6700. The PDA was damaged adn replaced with a new PPC-6700. I uninstalled all from my laptop, then installed 1.01 on the computer. Immediately installed 1.5 on the computer then synced. The PPC-6700 comes up and asks me where to install it, memory or storage card, so I choose memory. It then says it is trying to install it to "" (double-quote) and tells me I should have chosen memory (?!).

I've tried this a could of times getting the same results.

Any ideas?

why are you installing 1.01 and then 1.5? Why not just 1.5? I dont know what ROM version you are using but keep in mind that 1.5 only goes up to 3.3 I think (dont hold me to it) but 1.6 will work on 3.5. And I would think the device has to be synched at the time of install on the PC like everything else?

Lemme know what happens.

1.5 is just an upgrade. 1.01 has to be on the computer in order to install the 1.5 upgrade.

My ROM is "2.06.00 WWE", date 2/22/06.

I'm sort of stuck wiithout Voice Command now. I just need to figure out this problem where it asks me where to install; I tell it it to install to memory, then it tells me I should be installing to memory and it thinking it wants to install to "" (two double quotes).

if you open up active synch and then click on tools add/remove programs, you should be able to install 1.5 without having to install 1.1 to the device only...

After I remove all of Voice Command , then try install 1.5 I get a message saying I have to have V1.00 or 1.01 on the PC in order to install the 1.5 upgrade. At that point the upgrade cannot continue.

did you remove the installs from your computer? if you did then what I suggested is not going to work. If you did not remove the installs from your PC then just go to active synch and click on tools, add/remove programs and clcik on the check box next to VC 1.5 and hit install and it will install on your phone. You will need to remove the 1.1 install from your phone before you do this..
