OK so I just got a Mogul (ppc-6800) as a warranty replacement on my PPC-6700 and it's very nice and all but there's some thing I really miss from my Kirvin_cs_35_104 rom.

What app shrinks the scroll bar width?
What clock is used for the HTC Home Plugin (can't seem to find it in the HTC Home Customizer)?

I used Tweaks2K2 to change the scroll bar width. Not sure what you you mean by your last question...can you explain?

The default clock on the HTC Home Plugin has angular numbers and like a shadow background image. The clock on Kirvin's ROM on the HTC Home Plugin has more rounded numbers with no shadow image in the background. HTC Home Customizer is an app that customizes the HTC Home Plugin but I can't seem to find the nice rounded clock numbers anywhere in it. I really like the numbers from Kirvin's ROM.

I actually found the Reg edit for the scroll bar width:

Quote:
Don't you sometimes use fingers instead of stylus to work on your favorite PDA? Who wants to pull out the stylus for simple scroll up and down operations? lazy us...

Well, if you have fat fingers unlike me, you can increase the width of vertical scrollbar and height of horizontal scrollbar of your PDA. This makes it much easier to move around the windows with text or picture content.

Procedure:

1. Run your favorite Registry Editor and browse to the following key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE]
cyHScr=13 - Default height of horizontal scrollbar
cxVScr=13 - Default width of vertical scrollbar

I changed the above values to 23 and it makes is very easy to use the scrollbar in all applications. You can tweak it a value what you find most comfortable.
Sorry I can't provide credit for where I got this but I forgot where I copied this from. He wanted it to increase the scroll bar size but of course I just went the other way. The default is 13 and Kirvin went to 8; I thought 8 was a little small and right now I'm trying to pick between 10 and 9.

For Kirvin, when I get to the second window of the RUU, it shows:

Device CE image version:
Extended image version:
Device Radio image version:

but to upgrade using Kirvin's I get:

Device CE image version:
Extended image version:
Device Radio image version:

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? thank you.

ok so after leaving my phone alone for a long long long time I started messing with it again and realized I once again opened up Pandora's box...

I flashed to Kirvin's rom first, changed some things, loved it. Then I realized I had one major problem with it. I can't view picture mail. I can get the text with it, click the link, and open it up but PIE has been changed and I can't figure out how to change it back so I can see more then a tiny thumbnail. I realize PIE in this ROM has been changed to look like IE6 but I'd much rather have the regular PIE back. Is that possible?

I flashed to Rob's WM6 ROM tonight. It's cool and all but I really want to be running Kirvin's. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. There has to be something I'm over looking to change PIE back to normal but for the life of me I can't figure it out in the registry. I don't do heavy browsing on my phone. If I want to get on the net I just use it as a modem and pull out my laptop. Works much better for me.

I'm flashing back to Kirvin's now. Someone please help!

need help please-Newbie I'm stuck on the home screen (today?)

If some one could help me, i would greatly appreciate it. My 6700 always got stuck on sending calls out, and text mails, so i used the Jeff Kirwin upgrade and it worked great for a day (man it was amazing for a day), now it freezes in different places but mostley on the home screen or the today screen i am not sure what you call it. i have the pheonix radio 1.41, and kirwin Kirvin_CS_35_104_Sprint dont know what to do, i have tried soft resets all day but nothing happens to improve it. my undying gratitude to anyone who might offer help.

Joe,

Did you flash the radio prior to flashing the ROM? Also did you do a hard reset after each? I changed from the OEM ROM to this one, to WM6, to another ROM, then back to this one with no problems at all. I would suggest starting over from scratch if you're able. If your PPC is synced it shouldn't be too much trouble to reload everything. If you flashed the radio AFTER you flashed the ROM I would;

- flash back to the OEM ROM, hard reset
- flash to the newer radio, hard reset
- flash to Kirvin, hard reset
- sync

If you did flash the radio prior to flashing the ROM I would;
- hard reset

If a simple hard reset does not correct it then I would flash back to the OEM ROM, hard reset, flash to Kirvin ROM, hard reset.

Keep in mind if you were experiencing these problems before you upgraded it is possible you have a hardware problem and need to get the phone replaced. I have had zero problems with Kirvin's ROM with the exception of not being able to view picture mail now using PIE. That's not so much of a problem for me as an annoyance but now I'm able to log into my bank's website again so I'll just foward the pictures to my email and view them on a computer later.

Let me know how you make out. I've had ZERO DSODs since the upgrade and this ROM totally made me fall back in love with my phone again.

Wrestler,
Just in case you haven't seen it already and tried it, there's a tweak for fixing some Sprint picture mail issues - you need to go into your settings and directly enter the server IP address rather than relying on the DNS servers to find it. The talk is over on ppcgeeks.

no i did not do a hard reset after either of them, but have done one since. It was the storage card that i belive was causing the problem, and everything seems to be working again, quite well. If i come in too any problems , i will definately do what you said. The rom is great. Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated.

Joe glad to hear your problem is fixed. Are you running any programs off the card? That could potentially cause problems as well with your lock ups or it could just be a bad card. Years ago I had an SD card go bad that I used with my iPAQ. Whenever I tried to read something off the card my iPAQ would just lock up and I had to do a soft reset.

I still haven't had any problems with Kirvin's ROM. I think it's great. My phone is snappier then it was before and it's never a bad thing to have more memory. Points to Kirvin for sure.
