I just lost my today screen completely.

I noticed that my phone was hot and when I checked it, the battery was way down from being fully charged two hours previously. I soft reset and got the iLauncher option to soft reset so I did. When it rebooted, I had nothing on my Today screen.

And when I go to the Today settings, I don't have options to make anything appear, whether my additions or the standard PPC stuff.

I'm using Jeff's most current ROM, and had TodayAgenda, iLauncher and the HTC Home Plugin installed.

This is the first issue I've had with ANY of Jeff's ROM so I'm wondering if it's the HTC Home plugin thing that was mentioned above. Any thoughts?

This is amazing--thank you so very much! I feel like I have the most stable ROM out there! now, the question i have is, should i get a new xv6700 with the insurance because my joystick thing has become extremely loose -- it's usable, but barely

Wish I could help, but I don't use TodayAgenda or iLauncher. I don't even know what they look like.
Question though - Do you have any programs installed that would allow you to boot into safemode?
Your problem maybe the HTC Home Plugin and how it interacts w/ other today screen plugins.
I use HTC Home Plugin/O2 apps/WisBar Lite.
I haven't had any issues w/ losing stuff on the screen.

Another option. Go to \windows\startup folder.
There you will see everything that starts up after a reset.
Try removing everything in that folder then adding them back in one at a time. That may help narrow down the conflict.

I don't know anything about Verizon's insurance, except that I've been paying on it for 2 phones for 2 years and I should have saved my money.
Anyways, I think if you file a claim, you still end up paying $50. I'm sure there are thread's regarding their coverage.
You may want to call a Verizon store and ask them the best route.
Not sure you can get insurance after you've had the phone for a while.
Who know's Verizon store might feel generous and offer you a trade for a refurbished unit.

Seriously folks, the HTC Home plugin is flaky at best. Sometimes it rocks, sometimes it crashes the whole device. Better minds than my can't figure out why, but I think it goes without saying that it's amazing that it works at all on WM5 devices it was never supposed to run on. I've switched back to Spb Mobile Shell on a highly tweaked WM5 while I wait for the Sprint Touch/Vogue to come out.

As for tweaks for Helmi's WM6, I can't help you there. I ran it for a few weeks, liked a lot (HTML email is very nice, and the WM6 IE is much faster) but ultimately preferred the control I have with WM5 and what I can do with a kitchen. I'll probably try the WM6 kitchen for the Apache when/if Helmi releases it, but for the most part I'm happy with WM5 on my Apache for another few months, then I'll likely upgrade to the Touch, which better fits my Zen asthetic.

but no tactile keyboard? that hurts! i'm currently running a custom ROM i built off of your C&S+ kitchen, and it's extremely stable -- the only issue is that my phone will switch to vibrate mode after activesyncing calendar events, and my gmail account makes the whole phone sluggish while it's downloading, but other than that, i'm very happy!

thanks again for helping us out with your kitchen tweaks kirvin!

Between Fitaly, the PocketCM keyboard, Transcriber on the hard plastic screen and my Stowaway Sierra, I think I have input covered. The 6700's keyboard is better than the Treo's certainly, but the Touch offers some good ways to do without a thumbboard.

gotcha -- i like the pocketCM keyboard, but it sometimes doesn't activate -- it shows up in the list, but it's not active until a soft reset. weird.

terminal services cab?

hey everybody,
i really want to flash to this rom, but i do actually use terminal services at my location and am very used to it. it is removed from this rom, i can't seem to find a cab or any link to get it back on once i have flashed. can anyone point me in the right direction so that i can reload terminal services? i've seen the posts for the wm6 remote desktop, but i work for the schoolboard and am unable to turn on remote desktop on the host servers that i need to access.
thanks for any help

jeff i dont know if you use Palm but for some reason it doesnt work so great on this rom. i keep getting repeats of text sometimes i get the same one like 20times..

i went back to the nojunk rom you made, put htc 6 button,i launcher, sbsh weather, oxios, got the Mogul theme and i am very very happy...i dont miss wm6 and all the repeat apps, i mean it was great dont get me wrong but it was frustrating to have so many apps that i dont need on there.ANDDD Palm sms works flawless on here

i think the first 3.5 is by far the best rom on this phone just wished all the cool stuff from the 1.04 rom was cookedin the first ...

maybe a re-release of the nojunk rom for ole time sake lol..

Mapcom, if I remember right, that's standard behavior if you're using the stock sms app, which is integrated with other messaging. Just use your joystick right or left to scroll through the messaging accounts.

Yep, and when you're actually reading a message, then left/right on the joystick has the effect of previous/next message within the account.
