Thanks to everyone making these ROMS since Sprint won't do it!
Change the date and time display on the titlebar with this method.

The lock button on top of the phone to lock the screen doesn't seem to work after the new ROM.. if I hit any of the buttons the screen turns back on. Any suggestions? I don't want to put the lock code in there, just a simple screen turn off.

The phone keeps dialing if I toss it in my bag or my pocket.

Thanks,
Steve

Does anyone recommend doing the Glyphcache hack with this ROM? If so, what # would you put in there? So far the rom is amazing, although the redraw when switching to landscape is a little slow. I'm just worried about doing any hacks when I don't know how this rom is already setup. In my previous ROM the # in that registry was around 8,000, and now it's 2,400 so I'm confused. Thanks!

Drooling

I have the previous version of Kirvin's on my Verizon XV6700. Had to read about all the necessary changes to work with Verizon but I have been running it for a month or so and like it a lot. Still have the Sprint splash screen though...

I am drooling with anticipation for the new Verizon version. THANKS SO MUCH KIRVIN... You are the man!!!

Generic Rom Up

Kirvin has a new "generic Rom" up that will work with Verizon with a few set up steps for data connection. Leaves out any sprint stuff. Not custom for verizon yet, but if you know what you are doing, you have have the new ROM now.

He posted it on Aug 13th...

Email account disappears

First, this ROM is great - many thanks to the designer.

I am having one major problem, however. I use Yahoo (IMAP) as my primary email account. I can create the account in the Messaging app and download emails and folders as normal, but every time I soft reset, the account is gone. The only two accounts that seem to stick are Outlook mail and text messaging.

Please help.

i dont know if its ok to share this folder since it got flagged like the Palm threading app ..

anyways jeff if u read this u are the greatest rom builder of all time i will have to go with a Mogul if i dont see a new rom from u in the next 6 months

Been running this for a little over a week. With the new radio I get 3 bars where I used to get 1, however the signal will drop to 1 bar and fluctuate, but that has little to do with the ROM.

Used to the display and controls of the ROM and have not had any freeze, need to reset, or other problems. This really does feel like a new phone.

Pretty sure with this ROM I can wait for the replacement for the 6800 and WM6 and upgrade after another year or so.

Voice Command

Can somebody confirm that MS voice command works correctly with this Spirint Kirvin rom version. I think there may be problems with no voice comfirmation of the spoken command. I belive this is also a problem with the 6800.

I read about what made it different, and it peeked my interest, but it was already removed.
Fortunately, I found someone that did get it, and I got a copy.

Let me say it's way better than the original kitchen they so greatly worship over there.

I appreciate all the work you did, as well as the other developers.
The kitchens are all great, but I think your's is the best.

I added all the same stuff I had on my own cooked ROM, and w/ your kitchen it's much better and stable.

Thanks for you parting gift before leaving the community.

Say it isnt so. I have run every one of your roms with continued happiness. You made my 6700 a great phone, and saved me plenty of cash since i didnt need to chase the latest and greatest since your roms gave me that..

good luck and best wishes and if you ever get a wild hair and create another version, please let me know....

Thanks and godspeed

Question Phone tethering and the the new rom...

This may have been covered somewhere and perhaps sometime ago but I don't find much on how this ROM works for tethering. I have been delaying upgrading my original Sprint PPC-6700 (that's right O-riginal!) for fear of these new ROMs allowing Sprint to suddenly be able to track tethering and charge me accordingly. I use the phone to tether to my laptop and my wife will wirelessly connect to my computer for a two-computer tethering setup. We don't do this that much but I really value being able to to have this functionality without being charged for it above the $15 Vision plan. I had hear a while back that upgrades change the way Sprint can monitor how you use the device (streaming, etc.) and they can then tell if you are tethering or not. Supposedly with the old, original ROM they cannot. Can anyone verify if that is the case with Kirvin's or Colonel's ROMs or can I just flash and go, no worries at all?
Thanks so much for all the developer's hard work on these!
Cheers!
