Do I need to change back to aku2.0 from 3.5 for insurance return?

I have to replace my broken phone with the insurance co. Is it necessary to return the phone back to the original aku before i send it back to the insurance co?

I think it may be a good idea but keep in mind when they get it back they are likely going to wipe everything out, run diagnostics on it, repair whatever you said is wrong with it and reload the OEM roms and software. This is just me thought process on it though.

why give them the opportunity to shoot you down, which would then force you to pay full price for a new phone and waste all of the money you paid for insurance. Besides, you'd at least want to hard reset to get rid of your personal info, so might as well reflash. My two bits.

While I agree flashing wont hurt and it likely a good practice to keep, I fail to see how installing a different ROM and doing upsupported software configurations would make him have to pay full price for a new phone (as long as he has try hardware related issues and not software related issues).

But like I said above, I do agree with you here.

Unfortunately, flashing a new unsupported ROM is technically a violation of the terms of the agreement. Always best to flash back to factory before returning.

if the phone is out of warranty period then you have nothing to worry about. just use clear storage to clean out your info and your set.

TEP replacement - Reset ROM?

If I want to take my phone into Sprint to get TEP replacement, do I need to reset my ROM back to default Sprint ROM?

All,

I have upgraded from my 6700 to the 6800 and loving it. I have recently sold my Sprint 6700 with an external ROM (do not remember which one). Well new owner is trying to get it activated and the ## code customer service is giving him is not working. Do I need to flash back to the original Sprint ROM and if so where can I find it (searched the forum with no luck) as I have since deleted it off my SD card. Any thought/insights would be greatly appreciated.

Jon
