Thumbs down Verizon Employee 3rd Defective Lemon 6700 PLEASE HELP

Hello everyone,

I am a verizon wireless customer service representative and bought the xv6700 about 7 montsh ago. it had been having many problems making it ridiculous to use. so a couple weeks ago i finally called the employee care line and asked for a replacement, they sent me a refurbished 6700. as soon as i got it i noticed a few keys were jammed and the earpiece sound was very low and distorted. i called again and they said theyd send another replacement. i got the replacement yesterday evening and the entire keypad was sticky and sort of spongy like it had been used for years, inoperable for me. it locks up with zero programs on it, out of the box. also there is a water-like blotch in the middle of the screen which is clear if you turn off the screen. the phone literally RATLLES when it vibrates the two halves are loose and the vibrate is as loud as the ring no joke. i called just now and said this is the 3rd replacement, the phone is a lemon by the lemon law, explained, said im tired of this phone and would like them to send me a different model replacement, anything will do as i need a working phone. they refused saying they could only send me another replacement of the same kind.

they said the Lemon law only applies to consumer accounts and its their new policy...WTF!? they cant choose what to apply it to!

their verdict: the most they can do is send me a NEW 6700 non refurb. but it would use up my phone upgrade which is in october...RIDICULOUS! im so frustrated with them right now, they treat their employees worse than their subscribers!!!!!

what do i do to get them to send me a different phone? i know the BS they told me is indeed BS which can be easily figured by reading the magnum moss warranty act and the CA lemon law.

has anyone had any experience with this?

any suggestions to help at all?

thank you very much

yeah i have had problems similar to that... apparently there is a three strike rule. if you get three bad ones you get a new phone off the shelf or if you can persuade them enough you can get them to swap you out.

i went through 6 of the 6700's and finally i demanded them to give me another phone. well they finally gave in and gave me the i730 and that lasted about 6months and then it broke as well. they said well we can't give you another i730 because they were out but i could either wait a couple of weeks for a new one to ship in or pay 50 bucks and pick any off the self. well as you know there isn't much to choose from and i refuse to take a blackberry or a treo so here i am again with the 6700.

the funny thing is it broke again( screen was fuc*** up) but i tried to get different phone again and they said oh we can't do that you have to build a case up before they would approve a swap for a different phone. so here i am again with about my 8th 6700. but so far its holding up and i have to say i love the wm6 upgrade. but good luck with the carrier they are a**holes.

Oakley,
Your problems with the phone are not unheard of, but I guess as an rep rather than a consumer you are essentially getting leftovers - i.e. the bottom of the refurb barrel. It seems to me you'd be better off getting your key questions answered over at the HoFo verizon reps forum - people tend to speak pretty openly there. Call me crazy, but I thought that Lemon Laws only applied to automobiles.

In many states Lemon Laws actually apply to most products.

Usually though it only depends on repairs to things though. If they keep sending you replacement phones I don't know if that actually counts toward lemon law since they sent you a whole new device each time.

wouldn't a REFURBISHED phone be considered a REPAIRED phone? so, in essence, three refurbs=three shoddy repair jobs?
