personally ive been looking for a definitive answer for a while, ive messed with the sprint/verizon mms program and the server settings for days on end seeing if i can somehow find the right combination of settingss, and i think other people have endless tried to make it work too. in my opinion i think the problem is not client side its somehow a server side issue where mms isn't deployed properly

I have the "unofficial" word from a tech support agent that Alltel is aware of the problem. And, yes, it is a problem on their end, not the phone's.

However, he "unoffically" said that they were working on the problem and that sometime there would be a big promotion of some sorts to announce that the issues with these phones (and other PPC phones) compatiblility had been resolved with the Alltel system.

Unfortunatly, we couldn't coax a date or even a time-frame out of him. So, just cross your fingers and hope it is soon.

I personally think it is pooey that they are selling these and other phones like them, but can't support all the features. While the "dumb" phones can do this already. My opinion.

ALLTEL MMS - HA!!

I am an alltel user, with a verizon phone. I have tried for months to just add the server settings to the already installed pic messaging app. I have spoken with CSReps for hours on end, and they go retarded when u ask anything outside of the normal support boundaries. I also tried installing a 3rd party app on an alltel 6700 as well, with the same poor results. I don't want to discourage anyone from trying to get it working, but my experience was about as fun as banging my head against a board of rusty nails.
