Maybe I'm old fashioned, but wouldn't that be dishonest? Kinda like turning back the odometer reading on your car before you sell it.

Yes I was expecting those responses, took longer than I thought. It's mainly an academic question as the phone is going to my fiancee. I was just fiddling around with the settings and was curious if there was an answer.

Only if I planned on selling it. And even then it would be illegal in a car even if I were keeping it, while completely legal in my pocket pc as long as I am keeping it, or disclosing the fact.

In any event it was meant as an academic question. I found the answer with a google search so no need for the Peter Pan's to freak out anymore!!

It wouldn't be fraud. It is now a used device. Selling a used device as new might be fraud, but selling a used device that was once refurbished isn't material.

Actually, I'd rather have a refurb than a used unit.
