is it possible to use A2DP and BT GPS at the same time?

I just got a new bluetooth GPS unit and TomTom for my 6700. I can connect to my bluetooth stereo unit using A2DP and it works fine. Once I start the TomTom sofware, no sound comes through the output of my bluetooth stereo unit until I exit the TomTom software.

I would like to listen to music from my 6700 while also hearing directions from TomTom. Is it possible to do this or is there too much bluetooth activity going on for the 6700 to handle? Or possibly is it the TomTom software that is doing this to me?

I guess I should also include I'm using AKU3.0. I'm wondering if there would be any difference if I upgraded to AKU3.5?

Until about a month ago, I was doing this.... connecting with my JVC KD-BT1 car stereo for streaming music and a Bluetooth GPS receiver with Colonel's AKU 3.5 Final with TomTom. I needed to install the Broadcom Bluetooth stack (for audio fidelity)...so it's possible on the 6700. You'll have to do some registry tweaking and software installing for it to work 100% and for the audio to come out crystal clear.

I reverted back to the standard Sprint AKU because of battery life issues, and stopped using the phone as a music player for the car (I have an iPod for that). I still however still can use the BT-1's handsfree (through the car stereo) and continue to use the GPS.

That's great news to hear. I found a download here: Windows Mobile PPC Broadcom Stack Drivers - Freedom Input Ltd but I'm not sure if this is the right one or if I'm installing it right. Is there any place I can go with information on the Broadcom Bluetooth Stack and how to install it? Thanks.

I can't believe it works! Thanks a lot! I kinda screwed up my 6700 from my previous attempt, but I was able to reload the rom and installed the broadcom stack. It works just as I want it to now.

What AKU did you end up using?

How is your battery life? Same as before? Are you in an EV coverage area?

When I switched to Colonel's 3.5 and the Broadcomm bluetooth stack.... there was a lot of great new features, but my battery needed to be charged almost every night. I'm now back with the standard Sprint AKU and my battery can go days without needing a charge. As cool as all those features are, I primarily use this thing for a phone and an email client...and occasionally a GPS system. So the battery life was more important to me than all of the improvements in the new AKU. Also, I live in a 1x coverage area and lose signal occasionally, so the phone needs to work harder....perhaps in an EV area, that's not the case.

I'm just using the AKU from the Sprint's web site. I've had too many problems with all the 3.5 roms before so I decided to just stick with this one. I live in a EV coverage area, but I also only get one bar. I notice battery life really sucks when I'm at home, but it gets a lot better when I get to work where I get full coverage. I'm not really sure what the broadcom stack does to the bettery since I always have it plugged in when I'm using bluetooth. I did notice that the stack turned on the 6700 because the bluetooth was somehow deactivated and it was being reactivated.

My phone died within 4 hours last night and I wasn't even using it. I think the broadcom stack keeps turning on my phone because I also seemed to dial one of my friends without knowing it. I didn't have this problem before installing broadcom.
