E-Mail Attachment to Storage Card

I've had my 6700 for just under a year and have never been able to get e-mail attachments (i.e. large video files, music, etc.) to go to my 1 gig SD card instead of built in storage.

In messages, I go to menu - tools - options - click the storage tab - and there's a box that says "Store attacments on storage card" which I have checked.

Yet, when I download an big attachment it always seems to go to built in storage (and often I get a message about lack of space which may cause programs not to open and if I click on the attachment the 6700 freezes and I have to soft reset and delete the e-mail).

Am I missing something. . . is there something besides this box you have to check in order to get attachments to your SD card?

Thanks for any help!

I had tried this, but got DSOD lockups. I finally turned it off.

The attachments I'm referring to are usually from 4 to 8 mb. For example, my Storage says Total is 43.50, in use is 35.19 and free is 8.31.
