hey guys, odd problem. It says I have evdo connection, but as soon as i make a phone call or receive one it goes back to 1x, im pretty sure this only started yesterday, cuz ive had really good phone coverage since i got it a couple months back, but between yesterday and today i think ive dropped like 10 or so calls. any ideas on what could be the reason for this?

All voice calls are 1X...EVDO is for data only. It is working correctly if it is switching to 1X for receiving or making calls.

really? that's odd, cuz I was told by a few people that evdo was for data and voice connections...so it has nothing to do with me dropping a bunch of calls lately? oh and btw, I'm dropping the calls even though I'm in an area where I have 4/5 bars

Part of a family of CDMA2000 1x digital wireless standards. 1xEV-DO is a "3G" CDMA standard. EV-DO originally stood for "EVolution, Data-Only", but recently is also referred to as "EVolution, Data-Optimized".

EV-DO provides data rates over 10 times faster than 1xRTT, the previous data technology for CDMA networks.

Unlike other "1x" standards, EV-DO only addresses data - not voice. It requires a dedicated slice of spectrum, separate from voice networks using standards such as 1xRTT.

There are currently two main versions of 1xEV-DO: "Release 0" and "Revision A".

I am also having the same problem with calls dropping like flies. I mean like crazy. I googled the situation and i read that it had something to do with the last ROM update.

Any help please.
