why long time between button press and picture taken?

It seems that, when using the camera (on the highest resolution), the picture is taken significantly later than when I push the "shutter". I tried it with a clock and it's about a second: if I push down on the stylus when the second hand is on the 30, I get a photo of a clock with the second hand is on the 31. Now, I would understand if it took a while to write the image to card (resulting in a longer delay between pictures), but why does it get started capturing the photo only a second after I push down? Should I not have it set to save photos to a folder on my SD card, but to main memory?

Mike

You should be using CoolCam, it's a whole lot better than the stock application.

the phones camera has to focus, adjust shutter speed and compensate for the background/foreground brightness, color temp.. and add to that the fact that you are taking a higher quality photo makes the pre-shot time longer. also if you have a few apps running in the background, that takes away a little processing speed...
