I have activesync setup to sync w/ an exchange server @ work via over-the-air....it works great.
My actual question is, is it possible to use my server info & credentials to sync using MS Outlook on my desktop pc? I have not found a way to do this.
I would think that if I can do this using Windows Mobile on a pda, that I'd be able to do the same on a pc somehow.
No. The server is using Wireless ActiveSync to update your mobile phone.
You can use Outlook Web Access to view your Outlook remotely, or enable the POP Service on the Exchange Server and setup your Outlook to attach that way. Then it would update whenever you got an email on the Exchange Server.
I set up clients to do that all the time!
It works!

Yes, it is called rpc/http. Very esay to setup if you are the Exchange admin.
Newbie here---I also sync with our exchange server at work for Outlook e-mail, calendar, contacts, etc., but I would like to know how to access my mobile folders to copy and paste sounds, ringtones, pics, etc., like I would using the regular usb cable-from pc-to-pda sync method and using the "explore" function. Is there a way??

You want to 'explore' your PPC over the air through the cellular system just like the same way you 'explore' when connected A/S via usb or bluetooth. Did I get that correctly? If so, my answer is 'no', there is no known way I know of that can do that. Maybe there is a third party program and someone else can shed some light on me.
Closest thing I can suggest is to email yourself and add the ringtone, pics, etc. as attachment and you can retrieve them from the desktop.
I was asking this question as an end user, I am not the exchange admin. There is Outlook Web Access, but I was wanting to use MS Outlook. The only way to use Outlook is to be on their local network & they do not have a VPN.
I just thought I might be able to use the same info that I setup my 6700 to access the server wirelessly, on a laptop using MS Outlook.
