no standby in cradle?

Just got my XV6700, and I love it, but something's bugging me. When I place it in the cradle, it automatically syncs with AS. Okay, I'd rather it didn't but I can't figure out how to stop it. But my bigger problem is that it keeps syncing every 10 minutes or so, so the phone won't stay in standby mode. Any way to prevent this?

yes , just open up the settings in AS and have it to not connect when docked. you can change the sync options as well. just look in the sync options in AS.

search the forum here for more info on it, use "disable activesync"

Thanks for the reply. That'll work, but it's a shame you have to disable it altogether to keep it from constantly updating. Microsoft!

this is the screen you go to. just uncheck the tab and you can sync when you want to manually... i use BT to sync and i don't mind it updating personally.

hey ya know whats cool? the 6700 i use is downstairs in another one and my laptop here is upstairs and they are connected via BT! i just think thats fascinating... :mikey:

LOL. That was actually one of the big selling points of ActiveSync in the old days, and one of the reasons for its name. The dominant Palm systems used the "Hot sync" button to sync, so if you were working at your desk with your Palm in the cradle, you would push the HS button and then have to wait a bit for the sync to take place before removing the device from the cradle. Activesync, in contrast, actively monitored your Outlook and synced files with the device cradled and automatically updated both ways on the fly. Thus (the marketing implied) you could just grab your device and go whenever you were ready. (Didn't always work that way for me.)
