Hi - posted something like this before but I'm finding it hard to believe that no one else is finding this a problem...?

I just got into Vista and it has the same frustrating problem that happened when we upgraded to ActiveSync 4.x... except the reg hack doesn't fix it. When syncing in Mobile Device Center, the data in the Contact notes area still gets truncated to 5 kB. I would like to keep a lot more text in there than that.

Anyone else battling with this?

Yes, Activesync looks to be gone in Vista- I was just forced to upgrade on a new computer. That is the only good news. It is replaced by this piece of SHI* software called "Windows Mobile Device Center".

When I set up my machine I did not get the option of replacing contact etc. with what was on the machine, so I have duplicate contacts and appointments. I will have to reset the PDA, get the backup files, and write over my pst file, if I can find the registry settings (hope they are the same as XP).

Plus this junkware does not show what is happening during the sync and it still drops connections.

hey i never installed outlook on my ppc and now the screen has gone bad and i cannot seen anything and all my contacts are unreachable..how can i possibly save them so that i can transfer them to my new phone...

so when i tried to connect to transfer my contacts through activesync 4.5it said that i needed to download and set up outlook on my Pocket PC... what should and what can i do.
