Plantronics 640 vs 665 on the 6700?

Hello,

I currently have a Plantronics 640 and 655. The 640 works pretty well but I've had it a year and a half and it is having a hard time holding a charge. I have the 655 and it sucks when used with the 6700. I've read other posts pretty much confirming this unit doesn't work well with the 6700 even with the latest AKU 3.5. The 655 sounds fine on my end but when flipping between the two, my clients often say what, you sound like you are talking through a tin can or garbled even if I turn the noise reduction off on the headset. I hear the issues with the 6700 have something to do with the BT stack, not so much the headset.

I can either buy another 640 or consider the 665 - which I have not tried yet. Has anyone tried it yet?

While I know you didn't mention it, the 510 kicks @ss with the 6700. Also has a cool desk phone option... I had the 655 as well, it did suck hard...

I'm sure your clients would thank you if you went to the 640 or another headset. Plantronics actually sent me a replacement for my 655 but it sounds just as bad. I left a long message on my machine with each of the three headsets and the 640 was definitely much clearer. I know why so many people kept asking me to repeat myself when using the 655. I doubt the issue is completely teh 655, from what I hear it works fine with standard BT phones, just not the 6700.

DANG - now I've actually lost my 640. I know that they have a 650 and a 665. I have a 655 but can't use it as my clients complain I'm garbled with it. I hate buying the 640 as it doesn't sit well in the charger but if the 650 and 665 has the same issues, I guess the 640 is my only option. If you've tried the 665 or the 650 I would really appreciate your input!

Thanks

I know many here and other places say the 510 work really well with 6700 and for clarity in and outbound it's really good but it's still not loud enough.

I would love to find a something louder...
