Alternative to Outlook?

This may have already been covered, but I couldn't find any threads about it. Heres my question:

Is there a way around having Outlook installed on my laptop, and still syncing contacts, e-mail, calendar, etc? I've never been a fan of Outlook and don't currently have it installed on my laptop. But Activesync seems to only want to use that to share files with my XV6700. For some reason it never bothered me with just a PDA, but now that I'm using a PDA as a phone as well, I'd like a way to sync contcts.

The only other way would be to use something like verizon's wireless sync (which is really intellisync). This syncs with an online calendar then back to your pc if you choose.

You also have the option of using lotus or act and getting the appropriate conduits. (Will cost for both the software and the conduits).

That said, what's the problem with syncing with outlook?

I don't have Outlook installed on my computer. I never liked it for E-mail and use Eudora.
