Overriding data pass-thru while connected?

It seems while my PPC is connected at work it uses my work pc's internet connection. I'd rather not do this because of the firewall limitations of my work connection. Is there some way to bypass the desktop connection and have the 6700 continue to use my sprint vision (777) data connection instead, while keeping it connected and charging through the usb port?

Thank you, but this also disables the phone's ability to sync to my work desktop. Is there any way to allow the phone to continue to sync to the PC while not giving it pass-thru access to the PC's internet connection?

What aku do you have? There may be an option in the contol panel on your ppc. Go to control panel->connections->USB to PC.
