change timezone without changing appointments

Hello,
Somewhat new here.
Long story short. I purchased my phone a few months back. It was set for central mountain time. Didn't think anything of it. Since then I have created a billion appointments.
Now, I want to get my PDA on the correct time zone (Pacific), but when I cahnge it, all of my appointments change too. Anyway around this guys?
I can probably do without, but I seem to dwell on it and it bugs the snot out of me.
Thanks for any help.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think that you have to correct each appointment manually. If you use outlook, I would just drag and drop them.

Maybe try searching google for software?

I just had this same issue when going to colorado from west coast. SO annoying watching it show my flights an hour off. Wish I knew what the fix was...

i know this defeats the purpose, but with all my travel between the East & West Coast, i just change the local time to wherever you are. defeats having that visiting time zone, but my way, it doesn't change the appointments.

With this problem with Daylight savings Time all my appointments changed times and I figured it out when I was 1 hour late to a doctors appointment. I had to manually change every appointment. I cannot believe that if you change the time, the appointment times change. This is the worst flaw in the xv6700. Verizon is aware of the problem but they say there is nothing they can do about it. It's a manufacture error when designing this and there is NO fix for it and probably will never be a fix for it. Be very careful!! That is what I was told.

Sounds like your appointments weren't fixed by the DST patch. Check windowsmobile.com for the fix of look for Mrailing's fix in these forums.

I installed the patch and it did not work. A Verizon rep at the local store said he and others did not think the patch would work. It didn't. They were correct.

hi! Just to let you know! this is NOT a 6700 problem! Its a MS software isssiue! It works the way it was meant to! so when you have Email request for appointments they go into your cal. at your local time! Then when you change time zone, it will move to the correct place in the new zone! for example; the email comes in and goes in on its own! the email says there is a meeting at 9am LA time! you being in new york your appointment says the meeting is at NOON! then when you fly to LA and rezone your phone your appointment shows 9am still the correct time! OR if your not flying and your just calling into the meeting your cal. still shows noon so you make the call right at the right time! the only PROBLEM with this oftware is that there is NOWAY to turn it off for everyone who does not work in a big company or uses outlook in auto appoinment mode! search this site you will find many threads on the subject! my answer has been the SPB time! you leave your phone on home time zone and just change the time on the screen! works great for me! I am in two to four time zones a week! check it out!

Thanks for all the repies.
I've got it taken care of.
I went this route.

Admittedly, it did some strange things to some of my appointments, but fortunately I had a backup on my server and checked against those for verification. Seems the only ones that had real issues where those which were scheduled for the same time (sometimes I need to be at 2 places at once). So, the app helped tremendously, and I only had to double check for the few strays.

Thanks all! I'm up and running in the correct time zone!

Like Poncho, I think the default behavior of Pocket Outlook for handling appointments in different time zones is correct. If I make an 8 AM teleconference appointment while in California and I happen to be in New York the day of the telecon, I want it to show up at 11 AM because that is the NY equivalent of the time it was set up for. I don't keep my watch on California time when in New York, so why would I want my appointments to show at California times when I'm physically in New York?

The only change I'd make is when I travel I'd like the phone to recognize what time zone I'm in (from the network signal) and automatically set the clock (and all appointments) to local time. Cheapo cellphones auto-update their clocks to local time, but WM devices don't.

Wink

I am afraid that you may have misunderstood my post! I understand why MS outlook and there for my 6700 works the way it does! I think its absolutely asinine that it works that way! I know that it is very good for the small percentage of people that use it that way! what I don't understand is that they programed it with NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF!! I don't use outlook! So when I am in new york and I get a call telling me I have a 9am meeting in LA in three days! I put it in my phone at 9am! then when I get to LA and look to see what time my meeting is! I want it to say "9am" NOT 6am! My calender is me based! not company based! I want my times to be right when and where ever I am! So using SPBtime lets me change the time zone AND the city I am in on the screen of my 6700 but it does not change the home zone of the 6700! so all the appointments stay where I put them! of course its only a work around but its a pretty good one till MS realizes that they are out of step with most users! (if they even care!)
by the way! just to make sure, I was not angry or bothered by the previous post! just wanted to chat some more and make my point clear! (just in case MS is watching!!)
