New to phone need help!!!! please!

Hello,

I just bought the xv6700 verizon phone online and have recieved it today. The phone didn't come with any software and every time I try to connect it to my computer, its asking for the drivers for the "pocketpc Sync". The first thing I want to do to the phone is update it to the newest firmware. Do i need the software to do this? If so where do I download it at since it didn't come with the phone?

Also I heard you can't recieve calls when you use the wireless network functions of the phone. Is this true? And if so is their a hack for it?

Thanks

John

Just go to the microsoft web site and download the latest version of activesync. That will allow you to connect the 6700 to your computer. Once you are connected you can update to the latest rom.

If you search, you will find directions to do all of this.

Hello. I'm new to the forum as well but I've lurked on here for a while. It seems that the internet and phone problem was solved by the new ROM update which this phone already has if you just bought it. I can surf the net and receive a call. I installed the software from the CD before I hooked up my phone to the PC so I didn't have any problems there. If you didn't receive the CD in the box with the phone then you may want to get in touch with Verizon or wherever you got the phone from. Hope that helps! Good luck and congrats on the new phone!

Just a friendly reminder, please search before asking questions. Many many things have been discussed over before, and you will get a faster answer by searching.
