problems when attached to computer...

ok, i have noticed 2 wierd problems since i have had this phone, both when i link it to my computer with the USB

1. when i link up, i am attached to a wireless router, it kicks me off and wont connect again until i restart my computer. i can log into another wireless networks signal, but not my own...

2. i have noticed my battery on my computer is drained dramaticallly, to 5% in 5 minutes and then has problems re-charging...might need a way to turn off charging when i attach it with a usb...??

Fix:

1) Using the internet explorer on your phone, go to http://verizonguy.com/xv6700/serialtoggle.exe
2) Save it to your phone or storage card.
3) Run the exe on your phone
4) Click the radio button next to Serial.
5) Click ok to close the application.
6) Using the internet explorer on your phone, go to http://verizonguy.com/xv6700/softreset.cab
7) Run it to install it.
8 ) Run the soft reset program to soft reset your phone. Anytime you make a change to your phone, you want to use the software soft reset, not the stylus method.

This will fix the problem you're having.

You should only soft reset using a stylus if you haven't made any recent changes to you phone for 20 min or so. Without getting into a long explanation, when you make a change to your phone, it is stored in the RAM, rather than immediately commited to the phone, so a change you make won't always work. The best practice is to only use the stylus if you have to.

The other application changes the usb mode from rndis to serial mode. It is another way your phone can communicate with your computer, which will fix the problem you're having.
