Okay, I backed up my phone to my Outlook 2003 on my Windows Media Center Edition computer. This worked fine, and I've been using the AKU2.2 from UTStarcom's website.
Everything has been working fine, and I updated the rom to Colonel's AKU 3.3 ROM. Now everything syncronizes EXCEPT the contacts. I went back to the 2.2 from utstarcom, and it still won't sync.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, what setting needs to be set, or what, but I really need my contacts on my phone.
I've tried that, and it seems to just skip the contacts. I've tried using Activesync 4.2 and 4.5, and nothing. I did no updates to my computer nor have I made any changes to my computer during my phone's ROM update.
could be. if you have both boxes check on the phone and computer and all esle syncs as it should, it may be on the phone itself. and activesync tell you that the contacts are synchronized but putting the check mark next to it? without being there its difficult to diagnose. can you try it on another computer? do you have the latest version of activesync? dumb questions i know but just asking... apologies as im not much help but we will figure it out...
I have Activesync 4.5, and I have again created a new profile, this time to only syncronize contacts. It still checks it off as if there are no contacts.
Is there a setting on the phone? Why is it only the all important contacts that do this?
I have no idea what the problem is. Any help is greatly appreciated.
as long as you have the box checked on your phones activesync (AS)
settings then there is nothing else.
so you say it will sync all the other things such as ntoes, etc? have you unchecked those items and see if you noticed anything? how about just unchecking everything but the contacts and see if anything happens.
im running the beta 4.5.0 build 5059 vis bluetooth and i dont have those issues. im running the ut starcom rom off the website.. not using any of these hacked roms here. it would be helpful if you could use AS on another computer.. .this would let you know if its an issue in the computers environment or not... at this point there are too manay variables in place to determine what it could be....
feel free to email me off list if you want to try and troubleshoot via email or instant message...
maybe post up some screen grabs of what your settings lok like and what AS is showing you....
maybe if you can put some contacts on your phone manually then sync it up on another computer.. id just like to rule out the computer in this case. it sounds kinda like a phone side issue... i would do a hard reset and start from scratch.... as i think more of it it may be a godo idea to just hard reset... bear in mind you will lose everything.. but i think its a good idea... if you decide to hard reset, make sure you get the "erase all data..." message to make sure you are doing the reset properly....
