Voice Command over Headset problem - Audio routed back to phone..

I'm having issues with Voice Command over Bluetooth headset.

1. I have ran Colonel's 3.3beta3 and Saridnour's 4.5pr4 Custom ROMs.
2. I use a Samsung WEP200 headset

When I push the button on my headset, it triggers Voice Command, but the audio gateway immediately closes and the sound gets routed back to the phone.

Is anyone else having this same issue? Were you able to fix it?

Chnzshyguy, Try this regestry hack, it should keep the gateway open. Remember this is a hack so back up your regestry first. change the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path to a new value: '\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe' (without the quotes.)

Yup, did that one. If that is not in place, the handset button will not trigger Voice Command. I have VoiceCMD.exe in the \Windows folder now as well.

Check and make sure this entry is correct:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway]
"BTAGExtModule"="\Windows\vcbthag.dll"

I have the same problem -- checked and "\Windows\vcbthag.dll" is there in HKLM\...\AudioGateway.

I had no "Path" set to VoiceCMD.exe, now I do -- and VC now starts up, but gateway closes and re-routes back to the phone.

ideas?

You do not need a path set to VC for 1.6. That was the old hack to bring up VC1.5. With 1.6, it will automatically create its own path upon install. I had these same issues back when I first installed 1.6 since I still thought I needed the extra hack\cab. So, change back anything that you have added and give it a whirl. Sometimes you have to launch VC from a hard button first. It may also take a reset.

If you are flashing again, install the new 3.5. Then just copy the exe into the Windows file. You can then enable VC in settings and it should be good to go.

Thanks for the quick reply. I noticed that my path to vcbthag.dll was there, but it points to Program Files \ VC \ and not \windows. I will take out Path and to a reset.

question -- I read somewhere else that 6700 HACKS has a setting that needs to be unchecked: page 5 and uncheck VOICE DIALER

what's VOICE DIALER / and does this setting has anything to do w/ VC. I unchecked Voice Dialer and soft restarted, but nothing happened.

Voice Dialer was the old, stock dialer program that I pulled out.

Make sure you do two things. First make sure the entry I posted above is there. Then, in [HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand] Path=" ". The string for "Path" needs to be there, but it should point to nothing.

Okay, so in PPC6700 hacks I unchecked "voice dialer" and removed VoiceCommand and deleted VoiceCommand key in registry to start new. I will re-install VoiceCommand 1.6 "fresh" just to make sure all the settings are the way MS intended, right?

Tried to re-install VC -- found out that removing all HKLM/Software/OEM/VoiceCommand might've been a stupid idea. And for some bizzare reason every Time I try to check "enable" VoiceCommand in Settings, and click OK, it doesn't want to take. Weird....
