I can connect fine to those machines using IE for network shares browsing from the PPC-6800.
I can also RDP into those machines from my laptop.
However, I am not able to RDP into the machine from the PDA.
I have use WINS names, DNS names, IPs with no success.
I get:
"Cannot connect.
Likely reasons are:
1. Specified computer name or ip does not exit
2. A network error occured while establishing the connection. "
Application: PPC Remote
Start - End: 8080
Protocol: both
Ip address: the address of the computer you wish to access remotely
Enable: place check or mark box
Save settings and try it out.
I have a question... is there any reason why you can't remote desktop into a machine using http://sitename/tsweb? when I get the page the connect button is greyed out.. What is the cause of this.. I want to be able to connect to my desktop from ANYWHERE.. not while I'm just within my network.
Can someone walk me through what information I need from the host PC for this program? Thanks.

hey fellow-James,
- right click on 'my computer' (either from desktop or from start menu)
- select 'properties', click box under 'Remote Desktop'
- if your computer is behind a router, go in its settings under 'applications & gaming' or something similiar to that effect to allow certain applications specialized access in the 'port range forward' setting, below is how mine is set:
Application Start End Protocol IP Address Enable
remote 3389 3389 Both 192.168.x.x x
- for IP address, be sure you indicate the LOCAL IP address of your host computer
- click on 'save settings' button
- while you're still in your router's configuration window, go under 'Status' and determine the 'IP address' (computer's location address, not 192.168.x.x), write it down
- on your phone, load up the WM6 RD application, under 'Computer' type in the 'IP address' of your computer's location address - again, not the 192.168.x.x
- type in your 'user name', and 'password' of the ACCOUNT you log in your computer, or you use
- then hit 'connect'...that's it.
On my HTC Advantage 7501X when I tap rdp connected via wireless, it works fine. However, if I try to use iv via the phone connection it does not work. It is like the program is not telling the handheld that it needs to dial and create a VPN for the connection. Any suggestions?
I was dissappointed when I realized my T-mobile Wing did not include RDP. It took some searching to find this site and the link to this client but I am extremely pleased now. Awesome client and so far have connected with no issues to Server 2000, Server 2003, and XP. Keyboard works great.
You know I was about to shell out $50 or more for some overloaded crap program when I googled an finally found a great simple program to access my remote servers... I must say this has got to be the most wanted featuer by true Power Hungry Pocket PC owners...
Once again thanks and hopefully someone can hack this a bit and load a few extras...
I tried many time on WM6_RDP, it always fail. But I can sucessfully connect to my remote desktop using Gooer Remote Desktop Service. Since they all using RDP protocol, there must be someting wrong with my environment. anyone encounter this issue?

How does it 'fail'? Did you read all the posts here carefully?
Keyboard not working on my Verizon vx6700 either. Logmein has worked fine for years and so does the old Terminal Services Client. Are these real advantages to using this version. How important is the sound feature after all?
I read this thread on remote desk top. I am getting the same errors as pc001did.

I the following post you stated problem fixed it was the roughter stettings. Please tell me what were the settings . I want to be able to acess RDP thru my evdo connection when i am at work and no where near my roughter. Pleas help this is driving me crazy. again iot works thru my active sync when i am docked with my laptop
Is there somthing wrong with my Internet conn. How do I conn thru EVDO?
I get the same thing when trying to connect using RDP over EVDO to my computer at work but it works fine when my i730 is hooked into the wi-fi at work. I imagine I would have to set up a VPN connection first. Does anyone know if this is likely the case when connecting to a computer on a corporate network over EVDO?
