Need Help: Disappearing Programs

Hi there,

I have the xv6700 with vzw service running wm5 & rom 2.07.20 from here.

I have a number of games that I've been installing on my 6700 via the add/remove programs functionality in activesync. Here is what I'm experiencing:

1) Activesync
2) Install a few games via active sync from pc.
3) box pops up on 6700 asking if I want to install it to the main device or the storage card. I select storage card.
4) Installation completes, games work fine. I am able to launch them and play them without incident. Some of the games I'm installing want me to reset the device. If I allow the installer to reset the phone or soft reset the phone myself with the stylus, after the reset, in the programs-> games folder, all programs except the stock solitaire and bubble breaker now appear as plain white/blue icons as if they were shortcuts to missing programs. When you click on the program shortcuts, this message appears:
"The file ' file name here ' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."

This leads me to believe that for whatever reason, the reset is wiping out the programs on the storage card. The card is a 4gig minisd that works well for everything else. One possibly related observation: If I navigate to the Program files folder on the card, it is empty even with 'show all files' checked.

Anyone have any suggestions or anything I can try? I've tried disabling the security prompt but that didn't help.

The card itself isn't disappearing. I can still access it and explore it. It doesn't appear to be the other problem I was reading about with the disappearing cards. This one is more my programs stored on the card are not being saved on reset.

Yes, I have approximately 300 games on my laptop, and was planning on installing approximately 20 of them to the 6700. All games I'm trying to install appear to work fine, but after reset give that error message.

could be the card - I see its a 4gb card, 2gb is all that is "supported" in winmobile. Try a different (2gb) card?

Upgrading to aku 3.3 fixed the problem. The 4 gb card works well now and nothing is vanishing.

Hmmm... I thought the 4 gig cards were fakes. I thought they were 2 gig cards with the formatting hacked to make it appear as if it were 4 gig. Have you ever actually past the 2g mark? What is the most you have stored on the card? Where did you get it?

No, the 4gb cards are real, granted some may be fakes. I'm successfully using mine now. I have over 3 gigs on it at the moment, mostly full length dvds I converted to wmv files.

Here is my detailed post about it.

Thanks for the info. It appears however that my next card must be a micro, and there is not 4gb in that size. I hate htc.
