Opening .exe files?

I have downloaded several different programs and a lot of them seem to give me an error that says "... is not a valid pocket pc application", but I see that everyone else on this forum is using it like resco file explorer. Am I missing a file or doing something wrong?

All the progams I am downloading are specifically for WM5, but it seems like they are not installing on my 6700.

some .exe are designed to work on the ppc and some on the pc... if it is saying not a valid ppc app then you need to run it on your pc

Thank you!! I didn't realize you had to install from the PC. I thought the files were meant to be extracted straight from the mobile device.

If it says not a a valid pc app then it should be run (not installed, just create a shortcut) from the ppc and if it says .cab thats installed from the ppc
