I had a customer that called me today, stating that his 6700 is turning on by its self every time outlook checks for mail. I am not having the problem myself and can not find any combination of settings that will replicate this problem.

Does any one have any ideas as to why this is happening? Or how I can prevent this from happen to him?

By phone turning on I assume you mean the phone wakes up and the screen lights?
If that is the case locking the phone would stop the display from lighting up during a data session I believe.

I firgured it out. I found an old 6700 with the orginal ROM version. It did exactly what the customer was saying.

Did you figure out how to prevent the turning on by itself problem? I've got a red logo (older) 6700 that keeps turning itself on for no apparent reason. It's killing my battery! I'm using the 4smartphone push e-mail service, but the random turn-ons don't seem to coincide with the receipt of e-mail, voice messages, text messages, etc. It just turns on...

I've done nothing in terms of the new AKU or whatever. I'm fairly techno savvy, but just haven't taken time to really dive into the phone.

My 6700 on the original ROM did the same thing. As soon as I switched to a newer ROM it quit doing that.
