Joystick button stuck can I remap it?

Hi,
Upon searching the forums I've found quite a few various threads where people have the issue that there joystick button is randomly stuck in the 'clicked' position.
I have this issue and it results in all sorts of unintended phone operation like hanging up on people and deleting messages and all sorts of stuff. A lot of people were able to swap their phones as this is a hardware issue where the joystick assembly stops working.
I've also read a bunch of forums about remapping different hardware buttons including the soft keys and even the directions on the joystick (up left down right).
I have not been able to find out if there is any program or reg hack that will simply allow me to remap the joystick click button to do nothing and/or disable it. Please please please help if you can as disabling the joystick click would solve countless headaches for many of us.

I've read a bit about smartskey and AEButton Plus, do either of these allow you to map the joystick 'click' button to do nothing (i.e. disable it)?

for anyone following this thread, the best solution so far was posted in another thread by RetroElectro:

The trial version of AEButton plus doesn't have a timeout and you can do most if not all functions in this mode.

I installed the program and I was unable to unbind the Enter/Action button which as far as AEButton is concerned is the enter key on the keyboard and the joystick click button. If anyone knows a button remapping solution that can distinguish between the keyboard enter and the joystick click then let me know otherwise I'll just let this thread die and be happy with what I got. Thanks RetroElectro.....
