Cool Soft Reset Required Often

As a new user of the 6700 I feel that far to often I must do a soft reset. Many times I must do this repeatedly.

Any ideas as to why my 6700 freezes so often? I do use Agenda Fusion but most every other program I have put onto it is on the storage card.

Programs on the storage card should not be present on the today screen, should not be your ringers currently in use and should not specifically say they need to be installed to main memory... have you got that much covered? If so, then do a hard reset. If it is still doing it you may have a hardware problem.

I've had my phone for a year now, and there were MANY times I wanted to simply throw the phone against a wall because of the constant lockups and required soft resets. The biggest culprit behind it, I THINK, was expired trial software. I had installed many trials of software trying things out. I neglected however to remove all of them once I quit using them. When I finally got rid of everything that had expired, my phone stabalized almost completly.

So if you have any trial software installed that you don't want, get rid of it and see if that helps. It did for me.

Also take a look at the "regedits I've made...." thread in here too. I made those mods as well, but still had lockups until I removed all trial software. With those edits I've also got better performance out of the phone.

Good Luck. Hope that helps.

Check this thread out, kind of long but I would suggest reading all of it. They basically address the issue you are having with your phone.

This is a very helpful thread. Also, be careful of third party programs you install. There are sticky threads to which ones work and which ones don't. I install and test a ton of programs and have finally figured out how to do it correctly. First, I would buy some back up software. I personally like SPB Backup. Next, make a back up. Then, slowly add programs. And by slowly, I mean really slowly. I use to install tons of programs at once and then my phone would be a brick. Now, I install a program after I have made a back up and then test it our for a while. If I do no keep the program, I do not uninstall it, rather I restore a backup. I use SPB for this because with it you can just restore a portion of the backup, eg: programs only.

Another reason might be that you are out of program memory. There are a few programs out there that complete close out a program. Magic Button is one, but there are a ton more.

Also, I have found that the new ROM is more stable as well.
