Clear voicemail with new ROM

With the previous ROMs, we were able to clear the voicemail notification in the phone settings.
This option isn't here with the new ROM- at least not in the same place.
Does anyone have a clue as to how to do this?
If it's not a regular option, how about a reg hack or something?

Hmm. Since I know I'm not stupid and/or making this up, does anyone else have this happening?
What I've noticed is that when I reset, the voicemail icon appears and then Phone alarm puts up a voicemail alert. Then the regular voicemail icon disappears, but the PA alarm remains. I realize that this is partly a PA issue, but the VM icon shouldn't be appearing in the first place and I certainly don't have the option to remove it right now.

I see your problem.

When you bring up the "Phone" control panel using Wisbar, the first tab is inexplicably missing.

Open the panel using the built-in start menu, and everything is fine.

A good guess- had some potential as the additional tab came up.
But the same thing is happening.
It used to go away after a soft reset, but somehow the soft reset is initiating the alert.

Yes you are correct it shold be right under the "Alert" option. I had this problem and one of my buds that works for Sprint in the testing lab said that they have seen this problem in the lab. They said that it is because that phone did not get set up properly after a hard reset or during the ROM upgrades. You have basicaly two options:

a) Do a hard reset and and let it finish all the way through. This means do not stop the installation of the programs and to do it unmodified.
b) Re-flash your phone in hte event that something "hicuped" during the install.

I had to reflash the phone before it would show up.

I don't know if there is some other wor around, but if it is missing then it sounds to me like something did not get installed correctly. I have wisbar running and I still have the option. So I don't think that is the problem.I will take a screen shot a little later and show you.

I was aftraid that was the answer I was going to get.
Good thing my backups seem to be working.
Hopefully whatever it is is NOT saved in a Spb backup.
Other than this, I really like this particular "installation".

Hey Trident,

Let me know if you find a solution to this one (e.g., Hard Reset, re-flash, etc).

I am experiencing the exact issue (no Voicemail settings available). As such, I dont get any voicemail indicators anywhere. Very annoying.

Thanks.

Trident, are you using WebIS's FlexMail? I found this over at their site:

http://www.pocketinformant.com/Forum...showtopic=9844

I am hoping this will fix my issue (lack of Voicemail notifications).

Trident, have you tried checking for duplicate notifications. This has resolved some issues for me in the past. Not necessarily your voicemail problem, but I had issues with alarms going off every time I did a soft reset.

Not using FlexMail (but I am using PocketInformant) and notifications get checked for duplicates (and whatever else MemMaid checks for) every soft reset. I also ran a full check manually to make sure and nothing showed.
At this point I'm just going to wait it out. The problem hasn't occured much in the last few days and I don't have the time to reflash the phone (it only takes a few minutes if everything goes perfectly- and Murphy's law usually intervenes so I always try to give myself a few hours for a hard reset/reflash).

For all of those who do not want to hard reset, you could remove the icon the old fashioned way:
1. Call your phone and leave a message.
2. Check voice mail.
3. Play all messages left, delete, save, etc.
4. Wait for the icon to disappear.

I'm running AKU 3.5 and have the same issue -- there is no Voicemail service item under Settings > Phone, hence no option to clear a hung VM notification. Has anybody figured out a way to clear this w/o hard resetting or having to call your own phone and add/clear another VM?

In the 3.5 I am running, the ability to clear it is there. Maybe the custom one you are running has a glitch? Not sure otherwise...
