In a previous post describing the contents of the Extended ROM for VZW's latest ROM update, the Customize_105201.sa.CAB is listed as changing a setting so that VZW can detect tethering. The setting is:

Sets Multi-NAI (Detection of Tethering, by using a different NAI)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\WModem]
"Multi-NAI"=dword:00000001

Does anyone know if this really does anything?

I just updated my ROM, modified the Ext. ROM not to load Customize_105201.sa.CAB (among a few others), and performed a hard reset. When I examined the registry, this setting was already set to the value that Customize_105201.sa.CAB sets it to. I manually examined all the other CAB file contents with WinCE CAB Manager and none of the others set it. So I am doubting whether this setting has any effect.

Would appeciate responses from anyone who knows more about this setting.
