Outlook not sending mail

I have tried looking for an answer to this issue, but can't seem to find it. I have tried to send and E-mail from my POP3 account in outlook mobile, but when I send and receive mail I get an error that says that outlook can't download messages to my phone and it doesn't send the message, but the funny thing is that it will download messages just fine. Any ideas?

Are you using your ISP as your SMTP on the phone? Many ISP's won't let you send through their systems if the email is actually coming from somewhere else - it's an attempt to control spam. Anyway, if that's the problem you need to set your outgoing mail to go through Sprint's servers. Use smtp.sprintpcs.com and make sure that outgoing mail requires authentication is checked in options. See if that solves the problem. - sheureka

thanks for the info. It used to work like I have had it just fine, but maybe my work has changed their security protocol.

Do you have any email accounts that work? Have you tried setting up a new one just to see if it will work? If none of that helps, then I don't know - sorry! - sheureka

Yes my hotmail account works just fine. I tried to make a new account for the POP3 account and still got the same error. Anyone else have any ideas?

I get it sometimes on my account that I connect through a VPN for e-mail. For whatever reason, about 70% of the time manually turning off the phone signal (through comm manager), then turning it back on generally clears up the issue.

My phone might just be weird.
