Problem transfering large file to SD card?

Hi all,
I just received a replacement PPC-6700 under Sprint's insurance program. I am trying to copy movie files over to the storage card and every time, once the progress meter gets to about 4 or 5 bars on the transfer, it seems to abort and start over. It does this endlessly....I am using ActiveSync 4.2 to connect and then I browse my mobile device and copy/paste a 350MB movie onto my 1GB storage card. Unfortunately I do not own a card reader...

Since I received the new phone (actually, refurbished phone) I have used Pocket Mechanic to perform both a low level and high level format on the SD card, perform a complete card read/write surface test (checks every sector), and Scan Disk.

I have no idea if this is related to my phone or not, because the last time I copied a large file to my SD card was probably 3 months ago. Anyone ever experience an issue like this?

PS - after paying $6 a month for the insurance, and then having to pay a $50 fee to receive a replacement phone, I was NOT happy to find out that Sprint won't give me a brand new phone. The insurance company, Asurion, will only send you a refurb. But that's another story...

I've found that transfers through a card reader are MUCH faster and more reliable. So I use a USB reader for large transfers.

You can find card readers to add to your PC for $10 - $15, or you can find USB thumb drives that accept sd cards for $5 - $10. They are well worth the $$.

Thanks...for $15 I may go that route. Especially since they are faster anyway...
