GPS n00b questions

I've been looking at a GPS solution for my phone and since I'm a n00b (and DID use the search option lol), I've got a couple questions for those that have some knowledge on it.

1 - From what I've seen many of the GPS solutions for the 6700 require an external reciever. The phones apparently have GPS internally... is this not the same as what must be used for a GPS?

2 - Are there any programs that I could simply slap on my ppc, input a destination, and have it come up? I'd like to use this for walking as well as driving. (I venture from Baltimore to DC sometimes to hit clubs up, and walking there sucks, I don't know the city too well lol)

In order to search the forum for "gps" you need to enter in "gps*" to get around the 4 letter minimum search requirement.

Damn, nothing real-time, which doesn't require a receiver? Weak.

Weak?

If you wanted a GPS pda, you should have bought one that advertised such a feature.

Guess what? the 6700 won't do your laundry or cut you a switch without external accessories either. I wonder if that is "Weak"?
