Anyone have a problem with the MiniUSB port not working?

I have a Verizon XV6700. I have noticed for a couple weeks that my 6700 was getting harder and harder to get to sync (connect) to my computer. Then when I would just bump the cord, it would disconnect. Now I can't connect at all to sync or to charge. The phone itself works great, however, it would have been a pain in the butt to have to charge the battery by taking it out and using the home charger.

I went the the Verizon store and they determined it to be a warranty issue (MiniUSB port coming loose from the board) and I will be getting a new one. I think this happened when I was using my home charger and when I put the 6700 in it, I heard a crack....took it off and it seemed to be OK so I didn't worry about it. However, now I think maybe it wasn't OK.

I've searched all the message boards and can't find anyone else saying thay have this issue. So I think that I may have an isolated case....which suits me just fine because I am concerned about it happening again.

Anyone else have this problem?.....

Mine is coming loose now too. I've had my phone for about a year now and not until last week had it ever given me problems. Whenever I plug it into the charger (wall charger, car charger, or dock) if it wiggles around a bit, it stops charging. I'm taking it in today to see if I can get it replaced.

well I went to the Sprint store on my lunch and they checked it out. They said to come back in 5 days and they'd have a new one ready for me and to hang onto mine until then. So glad I pay that $6 a month. Anyone know if the PPC6700 has changed since a year ago??

Only change to the PPC6700 in the last year is the new logo and updated AKU (now 2.2 out of the box) Oh, and blue keyboard backlighting instead of white.

My phone is about 18 months old and the USB port is just starting to get flaky. Have to position the cable in the jack just so to get it to sync or charge. Good to hear that they'll replace the phone when it gets really bad.

Mine was only replaced because I was within the one year phone warranty. I think if it was over that, I would have used my insurance.....I have Verizon service and my second phone was identical to my first and I have had no problems since....I don't use my home charger anymore and I am very careful plugging it in.

I just had my phone replaced under warranty for the same problem. The sad thing is that my phone was about 1.5 months old when it died. The new one works a lot better now.

This will be the second time my phone has been replaced. Sprint really takes care of their customers. I got this phone when it first came out in Nov '05, it kept freezing on me, so after a couple months I took it back and they ordered me a new one. The new one had the new logo and blue keyboard. I've had that one for about a year now and the mini USB port is loose, so I took it back and next week they will have a new one for me to replace it.
